These videos are intended to help students keep practicing while physical locations are closed by emergency proclamation by Governor Inslee. Videos will be posted on weekdays so students know what to practice each day and can maintain their training. This is a new situation for all of us so the more you share your experiences, either through facebook or e-mails to your instructor, the better we can make things for everybody.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind while looking at these videos.
1) While movement is listed for all ranks and videos may be available for higher ranks, it is important that you stay by what is posted for your own rank. Attempting something from a higher skill level may result in injury or improper development that can set your overall training back.
2) Maintain your community by sharing videos or photos of you practicing or even just how you felt after practice on facebook so we can all stay in touch. Don't forget to tag your school.
3) You can share private YouTube video links with your instructor of your practice. That way if you have questions you can still get answers and instructors can give you feedback on how to improve your movement where it fits.
Live Lesson Schedule: Week of March 23rd
This week we are expanding our online options for lessons. We are offering regularly scheduled Zoom lessons taught by Seattle Area Instructors and Boston area instructors have offered access to their streaming lessons as well. For any of the live streaming lessons, all you need is a phone or a laptop and a practice area.
YOUR PRACTICE AREA
Try to set aside some space for yourself. Ideally you should have enough space to step back into a deep fugal position and then forward into a deep fugal, both front-to-back and side-to-side. You shouldn’t need more space than that; the existing lessons are designed for a smaller space.
